Testing not Guessing
As mentioned earlier, a very high Omega-6/Omega-3 ratio, as is found in today’s Western diets, promotes the pathogenesis of many diseases:
-
Cardiovascular disease (heart attacks, strokes)
-
Cancers of all types
-
Inflammatory brain diseases, like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and dementia
-
Autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus
-
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
-
Skin irritation, itchiness, and dryness
-
Depression, irritability, mood swings, and even aggression
-
Vision loss and dry eyes
-
Joint pain and stiffness
-
Thinning, dry, and brittle hair
Where do we get most of the Omega-6, the INFLAMMATORY fatty acids in our diet? Seed Oils
Seed oils are rampant in processed, and ultra-processed food and otherwise in pretty much all of the bad food that has become a massive portion of the Standard American Diet (SAD).
Here's a good article from the Cleveland Clinic on this subject: CLICK HERE
Seed Oils are HIGH in Omega-6 and DANGEROUS in high amounts, not only because they are inflammatory in and of themselves (some Omega-6 is necessary), but because they counteract the ANTI-INFLAMMATORY Omega-3 fatty acids, thus diminishing their POSITIVE effect.
Too much Omega-6 lowers the effectiveness of Omega-3. HOW:
Short-chain Omega 6 and Omega-3 directly compete for the desaturase and elongase enzymes that convert them to their long-chain derivatives. This means that excess Omega-6 in the form of linoleic acid may inhibit the conversion of Omega-3 alpha-linoleic acid into its long-chain derivatives, EPA and DHA. If we eat enough EPA and DHA in the form of fatty fish, (or better yet, Zinzino's BalanceOil+) we can bypass this issue and consume whole-food versions of Omega-6 without much trouble.
So INCREASING Omega-3 intake and absorption counters the negative impact Omega-6 is having on our health.
Zinzino's BalanceOil+ product is the answer.

ALZHEIMER'S and DEMENTIA
One of the MOST IMPORTANT discoveries is that consuming enough Omega-3s can be PROTECTIVE against Alzheimer's and dementia. Talk about one reason alone to get tested and take Balance+...wow!
See below:
Alzheimer's and Omega-3 deficiency
"Among specific dietary factors, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and omega-3 fatty acids...have also been associated with decreased risk of dementia"
Dietary and supplemental long-chain omega-3 fatty acids as moderators of cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease
"The findings of this review suggest that individuals consuming higher amounts of LC ω3 PUFAs (Omega-3s) are less likely to develop cognitive impairment and that, as a preventative strategy against Alzheimer's disease, it is most effective when dietary LC ω3 PUFAs (Omega-3s) are consumed prior to or in the early stages of cognitive decline.
OBESITY
Imbalanced Omega 6:3 ratio leads to obesity: CLICK HERE
"A balanced omega-6/omega-3 ratio is important for health and in the prevention and management of obesity"
The Importance of Maintaining a Low Omega-6/Omega-3 Ratio for Reducing the Risk of Autoimmune Diseases, Asthma, and Allergies
"The overconsumption of linoleic acid, mainly from industrial omega-6 seed oils, and the lack of long-chain omega-3s in the diet creates a pro-inflammatory, pro-allergic, pro-thrombotic state. Reducing the omega-6/3 ratio... either through dietary means or supplementation, may be an effective strategy for reducing inflammation, allergies, and autoimmune reactions"
CANCER and CARDIOVASCULAR MORTALITY
Higher ratio of plasma omega-6/omega-3 fatty acids is associated with greater risk of all-cause, cancer, and cardiovascular mortality: A population-based cohort study in UK Biobank.
"...our study revealed a strong association between the ratio of circulating omega-6/omega-3 PUFAs (polyunsaturated fatty acids) and the risk of all-cause, cancer, and CVD (cardiovascular disease) mortality.
CHOLESTEROL and TRIGLYCERIDES
The Mayo Clinic recommends eating fatty fish to help Cholesterol and Triglyceride levels. The downside is the Mercury and other toxins in those fish. BalanceOil+ is the safe alternative.

GUT MICROBIOME
Note: The Gut Microbiome has recently been discovered to be one of the most important areas to take care of concerning health. Omega-3s have been shown in numerous studies to have a positive impact on the gut microbiome. A few are listed below:
Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Their Interaction with the Gut Microbiome in the Prevention and Amelioration of Type-2 Diabetes
"Omega-3 fatty acid supplementation has a vital role in the management of Type-2 Diabetes"
Impact of Omega-3 Fatty Acids on the Gut Microbiome
"Omega-3 PUFAs can exert a positive action by reverting the microbiota composition in these diseases, and increase the production of anti-inflammatory compounds, like short-chain fatty acids."
Olive Polyphenols: Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Properties
"Recently, among the various natural substances, polyphenols from extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), an important element of the Mediterranean diet, have aroused growing interest. Extensive studies have shown the potent therapeutic effects of these bioactive molecules against a series of chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, neurodegenerative disorders and cancer."
